Whats up guys, it’s Kim St. Clair, your resident food loving and slightly foul-mouthed owner of PREPable Meals.
In college, I could have sworn up and down that I was going to be the next coming of Barbara Walters. I even majored in broadcast journalism. Life, however, has a beautifully funny way of working out. Sometimes it hits you with a Bruce Lee spinning hook kick that lands you straight onto a completely different and more incredible path… this is mine.
I was driven to create PREPable for two reasons. First, after years of working in the corporate activewear world, I noticed how many women were consistently talking down about their own bodies. Not a single woman was able to try on a pair of tights without criticizing herself. It was shocking. Second, I watched my father die of a disease stemming primarily from a lifetime of obesity and unhealthy habits. After realizing just how f*cked up the relationship we have between food and our bodies is, PREPable was born. My goal is to change that relationship.
The “F” Word
Yes that’s right, we’re talking about “fat” and all the negative feelings and connotations surrounding it. Constantly using the word “fat” to describe a body part or a feeling is both widely encouraged and accepted. Why? The answer is simple. It makes people feel awkward when someone projects body confidence; so instead, many of us resort to adhering to the social norm of putting ourselves down to fit in. That’s some bullshit isn’t it? Trying to fit in, is actually what’s hindering our ability to be mentally and, in turn, physically healthy. WTF. We believe that what goes into your mouth is just as important as what comes out of it. So every time you receive your delivery, you’ll get a little reminder card to avoid the “f” word for as long as your PREPs last. Once your mouth is on board, your brain will eventually follow. *All other f-word usage is strongly encouraged.
GIVING BACK
PREPable donates meals to local women’s shelters based on the number of meals sold per quarter. This means every single meal purchased counts towards providing one less worry for someone less fortunate. We invite our clients to be a part of our giving back events. Can’t wait to see you there!
